A respected regional civil engineering and groundworks contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer on a contract basis to support a busy programme of works across the Newmarket area. The role suits someone who can take ownership of engineering delivery, maintain high QA standards, and support the site team on fast-moving civils projects.
Key Responsibilities
Setting Out & Engineering
Setting out for foundations, ducting, car parks, drainage, roads, utilities, and general infrastructure
Managing levels, grids, control points, and as-built surveys
Interpreting drawings, specifications, and digital models
Ensuring accurate records and engineering control across all work fronts
Quality Assurance
Completing ITPs, check sheets, and QA documentation
Ensuring works meet specification, tolerances, and client requirements
Supporting close-out of NCRs and maintaining accurate quality records
Monitoring workmanship and ensuring compliance with design and standards
Coordination & Leadership
Working closely with Site/Project Managers on sequencing and planning
Providing guidance to junior engineers and supervising subcontractors
Liaising with designers, commercial teams, and client representatives
