Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated ward clerk to join us for 4 months at Royal Gwent Hospital working on the Winter Ward D7W.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Act as a liaison between the ward and community services, giving out discharge summaries to GPs.
* Direct queries, complaints, etc. from patients, relatives, or visitors to the Ward Manager or Nurse in Charge.
* Keep patient records in good order and ensure labels are supplied.
* Input patient details, admissions, and discharges on the Epex Work Station.
* File relevant patient information into the patient’s notes after signature by medical staff.
* Keep ward record books up‑to‑date.
* Arrange out‑patient appointments as instructed by the Nurse in Charge.
* Answer telephone calls and provide non‑clinical information as instructed.
* Ensure proper completion and transmission of works and estates orders.
* Maintain ward statistics and photocopy/fax documents as required.
* Prepare letters or other documents as instructed by the Nurse in Charge or Ward Manager.
* Ensure adequate stationery supplies.
Essential Criteria
* Previous knowledge of NHS systems.
* Administration experience with computer skills.
* Excellent organisational, communication, and confidentiality skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Welsh speaker.
Knowledge and Skills
* Proficiency in hospital systems; training provided.
* Tact and diplomacy with patients and staff.
* Understanding of information governance and confidentiality.
