About the role
Thisroleis a critical member of the European Procurement Leadership Team and is accountable for working across multiple markets and functions including Marketing, Commercial and Finance to deliver core business outcomes andstrategyaligned to our Procurement and Marketing business strategies. This includesoptimisingourDevelopmentinvestment and deliveringeffective and efficient scale reach investment across Media,Sponsorshipand Influencer.Our Europeanorganisationincludes the Market clusters ofGB, Ireland, Central and Eastern Europe, DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Italy, France, Greece,Iberiaand MENA (Middle East North Africa).
In this role you will also lead a team of European Category Specialists across Media, Brand Partnerships, Data and Insight, Content Creation and Productionand overseeour Marketing and Indirect investment acrossbothScottish and Irish Brand Homes(homes of our most iconic brands).
Top Accountabilities:
1. Managing themarketing procurement scopethroughbrilliantexecutionincludingsourcingandsupplier relationship managementand development
2. Deliveringfinancial and non-financialtargetsacross Diageo’s total balanced scorecard.
3. Driving an optimised shape of Diageo’s A&P to maximise growth and performance by reducing areas of inefficient and ineffective spendusinginvestment insights, data, and strategy
4. Effectively partneringwith business stakeholders across Europe markets (Marketing, Procurement, Sales, Finance, Sustainability, Legal, etc) to drive transformation and value in line with Diageo’s performance ambition
5. Drivingend-to-end execution of category strategies, ensuring that business partners are aligned and working in line with strategy.
6. Driving and supporting standard methodologies and innovative models for sourcing, cost models, benchmarking, SRM/SPM and e-sourcing – working closely with Global Procurement and other in-market Procurement teams.
7. PartneringwithGlobalProcurementCategory teamsonrelevantmarket insights, input and builds for all categorystrategyand benchmarkingwork.
8. Leadinglocal market sourcing and supportingglobal sourcing and supplier relationship management activity acrossMarketingcategories
9. Leading external agency partnerships effectively, leading pitch processes, agency negotiations, and agency collaboration plans to enhance commercial value, minimize risk, and assure quality of delivery and performance.
Experience / skills required:
10. Degree educated or equivalent relevant work experience
11. Fluent in English
12. Procurementor Commercialexperience in an FMCG environment.Proven experience in key procurement skills including, strategy development, negotiations (Complex / multi-country negotiations), analysis (cost drivers), forecasting and benchmarking, ideally in a Marketing Procurement context
13. Strong knowledge of financial drivers to shape procurement strategies. Proven experience in takinginformed, calculated risks to achieve substantial strategic gains.
14. Strong analytical skills.Forensic understanding of the cost drivers to target and influence costs throughend-to-endvalue.
15. Strong commercial competence, understanding of the business and judgment.
16. Ability to work in an agile, fastmovingand ambiguousenvironment and ability to keep up with pace of change and prioritize according to business needs.
17. Strong communicationand influencing skills and personal impact to gain credibility quickly with senior team membersand generate followership
18. Experience of making tough decisions and prioritizing delivery in a complex and difficult environment.
19. Practiced in objectively challenges to stimulate alternative thinking.
20. Strong leadership,coachingand inter-personal skillswith team performance management experience
