Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineer to join our team in London and
work closely with our DevOps Technical Lead in Copenhagen.
This role is not about maintaining infrastructure in isolation. It's about working side-by-side
with software engineers to design, improve, and automate how software is built, tested,
deployed, and operated across hybrid environments (mainly private data centres + AWS).
The ideal candidate has real software engineering experience and later moved into DevOps
/ Platform work, someone who understands the full software development lifecycle and cares
deeply about developer productivity, delivery quality, and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities
Build & Delivery Enablement
• Design, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that developers actually enjoy using
• Work closely with development teams to optimize:
· build times
· test strategies
· deployment workflows
· release confidence
• Own and evolve our CI/CD toolchain (TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Git-based
workflows, Bitbucket)
Platform & Infrastructure (as a Product)
• Treat infrastructure and tooling as shared platforms, not just ops tasks
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Configuration as
Code
• Support a hybrid setup across on-prem data centers and AWS
• Help teams move toward more standardized and repeatable environments
Reliability, Security & Operations
• Build automation around:
monitoring, alerting, and observability
backups, disaster recovery, and high availability
• Participate in troubleshooting production issues together with engineers
• Improve systems so the same problems don't happen twice.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Partner daily with the DevOps Technical Lead and software engineers (all based in
Copenhagen)
Act as a bridge between development and operations
Proactively identify friction points in engineering workflows and fix them
Advocate modern DevOps and platform engineering practices and tools
Must-Have Experience
• Strong background as a Software Engineer (current or previous role)
• 5+ years total experience across software engineering, DevOps, or platform
engineering
• Deep understanding of the entire software delivery lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with:
· CI/CD systems (TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Git-based pipelines)
· Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Configuration as Code tools
· Linux and Windows environments
Strong Plus
• Experience working in product teams, not just ops teams
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Writing and maintaining automation scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar)
• Experience improving developer workflows, not just running tools
• AWS (IAM, networking, compute, storage)
Nice-to-Have
• Experience with compliance-aware environments ((GDPR, SOC2, PCI DSS)
· AWS, Kubernetes, or security certifications
How You Think & Work
• You care about developer experience and delivery speed
• You question manual steps and automate them
• You're comfortable jumping between code, pipelines, and infrastructure
• You prefer improving systems over firefighting
• You communicate clearly across distributed teams
• You take ownership and follow things through
Why This Role Is Different
• You won't be "the CI/CD guy" or "the infra person"
• You'll help shape how software is built and delivered
• You'll work closely with engineers, not just respond to tickets
• You'll influence architecture, tooling, and engineering standards
