Teacher trained applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have participated recently in staff learning and development to update their teaching skills. To aid in the development and implementation of the College's SEND strategy and policies To carry out assessments of students to identify needs and monitor progress - including observations in the classroom and meeting with teachers and parents To work closely with teaching teams, SLT, parents and relevant external agencies to develop, implement and monitor individual support/learning plans To carry out Access Arrangements for Exams assessments with students and to work closely with the AAE Administrator to ensure that AAE is appropriately recorded and monitored To understand and comply with Safeguarding legislation and ensure that the best practice is embedded in all working practices as required. Our ideal Lecturer SEND should have the following qualifications, skills and experience: Degree level qualification or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject area A teaching qualification: Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, PGCE or QTS Have recent and relevant experience of teaching 14-19 year old learners with challenging behaviour. Experience and understanding of the issues related to Learning Difficulties and Disabilities Frameworks, regulations and requirements of the sector and how these relate to the role For full job details and criteria, please see attached job description.
