Job Description
London Medical is a specialist outpatient clinic located in London’s renowned medical district Harley Street and is now a part of Bupa Health Services. Our diabetes and specialist services offer customers fast access to diagnosis, treatment, and support when they need it, as well as onward pathways to high quality care at Bupa’s Cromwell Hospital.
What You’ll Do
As Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to one of the on‑site consultants.
You will interact with patients, consultants, staff, and visitors to facilitate a coordinated pathway of care for patients.
You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By
* Provide admin support to the department, prioritising doctors’ workload to ensure timely and accurate completion.
* Maintain a polite and friendly manner, upholding a high standard of confidentiality.
* Work as part of a team, showing flexibility in shared tasks to provide the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients.
* File correspondence, test results and referral letters into the patient’s notes before returning them to medical records.
* Receive telephone messages and relevant queries, send/receive faxed messages and relay them promptly to the concerned doctor, and request patient information from outside organisations.
* Support the coordination of our multi‑disciplinary team meetings to ensure consultant engagement and smooth running of the meeting.
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role
* Private Medical Secretary experience (essential)
* 6+ years of experience, ideally with Med Sec Diabetes experience
* MDT (Multi‑Disciplinary Team) experience desirable
* Excellent communication skills
* Good time management and prioritisation skills
* Organisational skills
* Telephony skills
* IT literate
