Offer description

Overview

We’re currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to become part of our fantastic team. This varied role offers a rotating schedule that includes in-patient care, theatre assistance, imaging support, laboratory work, and nurse consultations. If you’re committed to delivering exceptional clinical care, thrive in a collaborative environment, and take pride in high standards, we’d love to hear from you.

About Us

At Downland Veterinary Group, East Sussex, we’re proud of our warm, supportive, and nurturing ethos. We’re a hardworking and passionate team, focused on delivering the very best care to our patients and clients. With a strong reputation among both staff and clients, we’re always striving for clinical excellence and continuous improvement.

Team & Development

We value growth - both individually and as a team. Each of us follows our own CPD journey, bringing unique strengths to the practice. We regularly hold in-house CPD events, clinical discussions, and staff meetings across our three sites to share knowledge and ideas.

Community Involvement

We’re actively engaged in the local community - from school visits to educate children about veterinary care, to fundraising and supporting local rescue centres such as the Kit Wilson Trust. Our team also volunteers and contributes to charity initiatives throughout the year.

Our Facilities

We are proud to be an RCVS-accredited Small Animal GP practice at The Goffs and Hailsham, and Core Standards at Stone Cross. We’re also a Training Practice for student nurses and support new graduate vets with a VetGDP Adviser. Currently, we’re working towards ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic status and planning further RCVS awards.

Our surgeries include:

* The Goffs & Hailsham: Full dental suites (including dental x-ray), surgical theatres, in-house lab, multiparameter monitoring, and mobile ultrasound.
* Stone Cross: Two consult rooms and a vibrant waiting area, feeding procedures to our other branches.

All three locations offer free parking and are surrounded by local amenities. Renovation plans are in place for The Goffs to further improve our facilities.

Our Team

We’re a kind, fun, and close-knit team that values collaboration and mutual support. We currently have:

* 6 Vets (including 2 certificate holders)
* 12 Nurses (2 student RVNs, 1 working towards a certificate)
* 10 Support Staff

We also benefit from regular Visiting Vets for orthopaedics, endoscopy, advanced ultrasound, and ophthalmology.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a progressive and friendly team member who has already obtained a degree of general clinical experience. A drive for clinical excellence, teamwork and clinic care are essential qualities.

Working Hours

The rota involves working 38 hours per week over 4 days 8:30am-7pm between The Goffs and Hailsham, with a favourable 1:8 Saturday morning rota at Hailsham. No OOH.
