School Finance Assistant - Wigan
Location: Wigan, Greater Manchester
Salary: £14 - £15 per hour
Contract: Full-time, temporary (until at least Christmas)
Start date: Immediate
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a skilled and detail-oriented School Finance Assistant to join a welcoming and values-driven secondary school in Wigan. This is an immediate start position expected to continue until at least Christmas.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the school's finance department, ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations. You'll be working in a supportive environment that places a strong emphasis on respect, community and excellence, where every member of staff contributes to the school's mission of providing the best possible opportunities for its young people.
Duties will include:
Processing purchase orders, invoices and payments
Assisting with budget monitoring and financial reporting
Handling petty cash and school trips transactions
Supporting payroll and finance audits where required
Liaising with staff, suppliers and external agencies professionally and efficiently
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a school finance role is essential
Strong working knowledge of finance systems (such as SIMS FMS or similar)
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work accurately under pressure and to deadlines
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
