Summary

We are looking for an Operational Learning Officer to join our Organisational Assurance team at Service Headquarters. This is a permanent, part time position working 18.5 hours per week, and in return offers a competitive salary starting at £29,540 rising annually to £32,061 (gross) pro rata per annum. This equates to £14,770 - £16,030.50 (gross) per annum for 18.5 hours per week.

As an Operational Learning Officer, you will play a key role in driving organisational improvement throughout Service Delivery. You will be identifying and monitoring new and emerging operational risks and trends, recommending remedial actions, promoting good practice, and sharing learning across the Service and with relevant partners.

As Operational Learning Officer you will assist in the administration, maintenance, data management and development of the Operational Assurance systems (Power app / SharePoint / Power Automate etc.) and for implementing improvements and resolving issues as they are identified – maintaining the ability to recognise, record and resolve organisational learning effectively.

Key Responsibilities of the Operational Learning Officer:

1. To assist the Operational Assurance Manager in the development, management and monitoring of Operational Assurance.
2. To be responsible for assisting in the administration, maintenance, data management and further development of the Operational Assurance systems e.g. Op A Power App, SharePoint site, Power Automate etc.
3. Support the team in the development of relationships, both within and external to the organisation, to help improve Service Delivery and enhance our Service profile.
4. To ensure that Service policy, procedures, guidance and processes are communicated, implemented and complied with.
5. Maintain timely and accurate recording of all data required for input into Operational Assurance systems.
6. Contribute to the production of Operational Assurance reports (to include national, regional and organisational statistics/trends) and publications for the requirements of both internal and external stakeholders, at all levels.
7. Conduct effective communications with all relevant stakeholders, both within and external to the organisation.
8. To provide the appropriate support to Service personnel in the completion and reporting of operational assurance activities.
9. Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder forums to ensure continuous development and improvement of operational assurance activities.
10. Attend relevant organisational / regional meetings as required by the Operational Assurance Manager.
11. Undertake research as required by the Operational Assurance Manager.
12. Attend operational exercises / training events in support of operational assurance activities as required.
13. To carry out data analysis to identify operational best practice, learning outcomes and trends throughout the organisation and develop recommendations when required to improve organisational performance.
14. To support / attend as required Structured Debriefs, collate the learning outcomes / best practice as a result and input onto the Op A system.
15. To assist in processing all operational assurance submissions, to create actions for relevant stakeholders when required and track responses / progress until completion.
16. To support the coordination and monitoring of Operational Assurance inspections and undertake quality assurance inspections to confirm outcomes.
17. To coordinate, monitor and evaluate Operational Assurance campaigns to ensure their effectiveness.

18. Strong and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to report information to all levels through presenting information clearly, concisely and accurately.
