School Nurse - Specialist Community Public Health Nurse
Are you a SCPHN School Nurse (or due to qualify soon) who is highly motivated with excellent team working and communication skills? We are expanding our School Nursing Service as part of a new model of delivery and are recruiting to a School Nurse post. We actively encourage any applicants to come and meet the management team and 0-19 colleagues.
This is a year-round post working a minimum 30 hours per week between 9am-5pm.

The role involves a family-centred public health approach, proactive multi-agency networking and collaboration, reducing health inequalities, and delivering health care interventions and key public health messages.
Responsibilities and expectations include:
* Offer School Nurse expertise to clients within a community setting, acting as an advocate for the school age child.
* Undertake child / family assessments and develop a programme of child health screening and health promotion activity.
* Carry out specific health and developmental screening or delegate to other team members where appropriate.
* Hold responsibility / accountability for a caseload while overseeing and supporting other staff members.
* Delegate workload from caseload where appropriate, while retaining oversight of cases and identified actions.
* Work as an autonomous practitioner while also functioning as part of a team; support and develop skill-mixed staff within an integrated team.
* Prioritise workload to ensure timely action according to level of need.
* Provide skilled, evidence-based nursing care in line with policies and procedures; maintain accurate records per NMC guidance and Trust policy.
* Use information sharing and assessment protocols to determine what information is relevant to share to promote child safety.
* If applicable, perform non-medical prescriber tasks including diagnosis of clinical need with patient history and clinical assessment where appropriate.
