Location: Sunderland, North East England \nSalary: Competitive, based on experience \nType: Full-time, Permanent \nPerks: On-site parking, mileage reimbursement for site visits \nOverview \nI'm currently working with an independent geotechnical and environmental consultancy that's well-established in the North East and continuing to grow. They're looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with 7-12 years of experience to join their team in Sunderland. \nThe company works across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
They're known for providing cost-effective, practical engineering solutions and have a collaborative, supportive team culture. \nWhat You'll Be Doing \n·Delivering Phase 1 desk studies - including site walkovers, desktop research, and preliminary risk assessments \n·Managing and contributing to Phase 2 site investigations \n·Writing high-quality geotechnical and geoenvironmental reports \n·Interpreting field and laboratory data to develop clear and concise recommendations \n·Collaborating with junior engineers and project managers to deliver on deadlines \n·Liaising with clients and regulators as needed (note: you won't need to sign off reports) \nWhat We're Looking For \n·7-12 years' experience in geotechnical or geoenvironmental consultancy \n·Strong track record in report writing for Phase 1 and Phase 2 studies \n·Confident working independently and as part of a team \n·Comfortable with UK geology and ground investigation techniques \n·Full UK driving licence - access to a vehicle is ideal, but mileage is also reimbursed \n·Degree qualified in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental science or similar \nWhat You'll Get \n·Friendly and knowledgeable team, led by an approachable and experienced senior \n·Secure and growing pipeline of varied projects across the UK \n·Convenient office location with parking \n·Paid mileage for travel to and from site visits \n·Opportunity to focus on technical delivery - no requirement to sign off reports \n·Strong support for work-life balance and future progression
