Job Title: Facilities Lead Location: South Croydon Salary: up to £35,600 (DOE) Hours: 37 hours/week - shift times across Monday–Fridays (very occasional Saturday) Role Overview: A hands-on role responsible for leading a small team to ensure a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for staff, students, and visitors. The ideal candidate will bring multi-trade skills (plumbing, carpentry, or painting/decorating) along with experience supervising maintenance operations. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and supervise maintenance staff and porters. * Carry out and oversee building repairs and general maintenance. * Respond to emergencies (leaks, breakages, etc.) and coordinate timely resolution. * Use the digital helpdesk system to manage tasks and requests. * Monitor compliance with Health & Safety standards and carry out risk assessments. * Manage contractors and ensure quality and safety on site. * Maintain and check systems such as heating, fire panels, and BMS. * Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules. * Ensure cleanliness and safety across all internal and external areas. Do you have the required skills & experience? * Experience of working within a busy and demanding environment. * Qualified driver with clean driving license - certified to drive Group D1 Vehicles would be an advantage. * Previous experience in a multi skilled tradesman or similar facilities role. * First Aid at Work Certificate (or willing to obtain). * NEBOSH qualification or currently working towards certificate – Desirable * Good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience of using online systems and databases. * Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent (achieved or willing to obtain). * Equality & Diversity Level 2 (or willing to obtain). * Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults (or willing to obtain).
