A global, high-growth Fintech firm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its engineering team in Madrid. This organisation has expanded to over 600+ globally. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a mission-critical platform, building the financial infrastructure that empowers businesses internationally.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead initiatives from discovery to delivery, following a \"you build it, you own it\" philosophy for both development and maintenance.
* Collaborate with engineering leaders to design new services and components
* Coach less experienced engineers, driving the team’s overall effectiveness and technical trajectory.
* Partner with Product and Operations teams to ensure technical solutions align with global business goals.
Technology & Environment
* Backend Engineering: Extensive experience with complex software systems using Python preferred; open to other OOP backgrounds
* Architecture: Building and managing services with standard APIs and external integrations.
* Observability: Incorporating robust monitoring, alerting, and reliability into every service.
* Engineering Culture: Open Source friendly (internal and external) with a pragmatic approach to improving legacy code.
* Deep understanding of financial systems
