Overview
Applications are invited for suitably qualified staff nurses to join the Acute Inpatient (working age) Mental Health Ward Team at the major health facility in Guernsey, Channel Islands. This unit is the only acute inpatient facility for working age patients on the island, providing care in the least restrictive environment, reducing vulnerability to crisis and enabling early discharge with active discharge planning.
Salary and Benefits
Band 5 salary: £38,744 to £49,970.
Annual bonus: £1,605 plus an additional £3,000 at completion of years 2 and 4 (ongoing thereafter). Unsocial hours enhancements: 36% for evening/Saturday and 72% for Sunday/BH. Annual leave: 36 to 42 days (full credit for NHS service). Flat rate 20% income tax. No council tax or VAT.
Relocation payment: £5,000. Three months initial free accommodation. On‑site staff accommodation or a generous allowance for private rental.
Person Requirements
* Registered Mental Health Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
* A minimum of one year of post‑graduate UK acute mental health experience.
* Working towards or willing to undertake further education.
