Job Duties:
Provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs (SEN)
Assist in creating and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) for students
Support students in their academic and social development
Adapt teaching materials and techniques to meet the unique needs of each student
Assist with classroom management and behaviour strategies
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and deliver effective learning programmes
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students
Help students with personal care tasks, as required
Monitor and track student progress, and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians
Required Qualifications:
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
Knowledge of learning support strategies and techniques
Experience:
Prior experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
Experience with KS1/KS2
Experience working in a primary environment
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding of learning support strategies
Familiarity with SEN, Autism, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties
Ability to effectively manage classroom behaviour and provide individualised support
Proficiency in manual handling techniques
Knowledge of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Phonics
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications in SEN support or related fields
Experience using assistive technology in the classroom
Working Conditions:
The SEN Teaching Assistant will primarily work in an educational setting, such as a school or specialised learning centre. The role involves regular interaction with students with special educational needs, teachers, and other professionals. The assistant may need to assist with personal care tasks and implement proper manual handling techniques. The work schedule is full-time, and the position is temporary in nature. The assistant will be expected to follow the policies and procedures of the school or organisation they are employed by.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
