Job summary South Manchester Core CAMHS is wanting to expand its Occupational Therapy provision. by recruiting a B6 Occupational Therapist to support with the current Occupational Therapy pathway. The main responsibilities of the role are to provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment, management and evaluation for children/young people with complex needs who are open to Core CAMHS. You will be expected to provide specialist information relating to your own clinical area to the multidisciplinary team and community services. You will be clinically supervised by a B7 Occupational Therapist in the team and will be supported to work as an autonomous practitioner to provide high quality care to children and young people. The service utilises the Model of Human Occupation to deliver evidence-based care. You will also be responsible for supporting with the duty function of the service and contributing towards assessments for Core CAMHS. Main duties of the job To manage a clinical caseload working independently without supervision to a high professional standard, consulting senior for assistance, advice and support. To accept complex referrals in own clinical area directly from multidisciplinary team and highly complex referrals delegated by senior. To work flexibly, assisting and supporting senior in providing occupational therapy to children/young people in other specialist areas. To work single-handed for a short period to ensure continuity of service and meet the changing needs of the service, consulting onsite/offsite senior as appropriate. To carry out holistic and functional assessment of children/young people through gathering information, using clinical observations and assessment tools in conjunction with analysis skills. To formulate, implement and evaluate activity-based treatment and treatment management plans addressing the child's/young person's individual physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs. To modify treatment and treatment management plans in response to the changing needs of a child/young person and parent/carer, ensuring planned interventions are delivered in the most appropriate environment.
