Ecologist / BNG Specialist
Salary negotiable - depending on experience
Location: Bedford
Working hours: Monday - Friday, Hybrid - Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday onsite (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)
Due to a rapidly increasing workload, our client is seeking a talented Ecologist to join their team and lead the expansion of ecology services across the Group. Experience:
* Biodiversity Net Gain experience, particularly carrying out and coordinating biodiversity impact assessments, BNG option assessments for planning applications, and drafting and agreeing Biodiversity Gain Plans.
* Experience in purchasing biodiversity units and credits as part of an offsetting scheme.
* Ecological survey experience including Phase 1 Habitat Surveys, Ecological Impact Assessments, Biodiversity Enhancement & Management Plans, Natural England licence applications (bats, great crested newt, and badger), and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
* Experience in planning and coordinating specialist ecological surveyors (independent contractors) who are likely to be based nationwide near individual development sites.
* Experience in preparing reports for planning submissions and discharging conditions attached to planning permissions.
You will be willing to work as part of a team, dedicated to meeting client requirements and providing practical solutions. A full driving licence and the ability to travel when necessary are required.
