Overview
Technical Manager role for Vistry North West Midlands, based in Wolverhampton. Lead on project managing the technical matters relating to projects within the region. Drive proactive design development and oversee the complete design process, including management of consultants, liaison with statutory and local authorities and other stakeholders. Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, standards, and Vistry Group specifications, policies and procedures. Requires strong Health & Safety, Environmental and Technical knowledge across highways & drainage, Building Regulations, NHBC Standards, Planning, and Affordable Housing. Responsibilities
* Lead on project managing technical aspects of regional projects from inception to completion.
* Control the complete design process, managing consultants and liaising with authorities and internal/external stakeholders to comply with legislation and Vistry standards.
* Ensure designs meet Building Regulations, NHBC Standards, planning requirements and affordability considerations.
* Coordinate the delivery of design information for tender, construction and handover.
* Support value engineering, buildability assessments and ensure timely progress to budget and quality targets.
* Lead and chair project design reviews and ensure alignment with customer needs and company goals.
Qualifications & Skills

* Full current UK Driving Licence or equivalent.
* Experience in a technical role within a residential house builder or contractor.
* Good IT literacy with experience of AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel & Word.
* Proven ability in a Technical Coordinator/Manager role delivering designs on time, to budget and to quality standards with high customer satisfaction.
* Excellent organisation and time management with ability to multitask; commercially aware; able to make decisions within authority; team player.
* Analytical, practical and methodical with strong communication skills for liaising with internal staff and external bodies.
* Willing to work extra to meet deadlines when required; resilient under pressure and receptive to feedback.
* Desirable: degree or equivalent in Design/Construction/Civil Engineering; membership of ICE/CIAT/CIOB; principal designer and health & safety qualifications; familiarity with Viewpoint and AutoCAD; experience managing technical fees.
