In this varied and rewarding role, you will be responsible for taking notices of marriage and civil partnership, conducting marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, registering births and deaths, and overseeing citizenship ceremonies. You will also support the smooth running of the service through daily administrative tasks, including managing email correspondence, answering telephone enquiries and assisting customers face‑to‑face.
About The Role
As the Deputy Superintendent Registrar, you will play a key role in the smooth operation of the Registration Service, providing support and assistance in the following areas:
* Assist with the effective and efficient delivery of the Registration Service
* Issue certificates for birth, death and marriage
* Conduct marriage and civil partnership ceremonies
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records
* Provide excellent customer service to registrants
* Supervise and support Registration OfficersIn the absence of the Superintendent Registrar, undertake the duties of the Superintendent Registrar
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
* Experience working within a Registration Service, with a good understanding of registration processes and legislation
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide excellent customer service
* Leadership qualities, with the ability to supervise and support a team
* Attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping
* Ability to work independently and use initiative
