A well-established public sector organisation undergoing a period of strategic transformation is seeking an experienced Procurement Business Partner to support key directorates. Operating within aplex, regulated environment, the organisation ismitted to driving value for money, improving service delivery, and embedding best‑practice procurement across its operations. You will join a collaborative and mission‑led team, where procurement is recognised as a critical enabler of organisational improvement.
Your new role
As a Procurement Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, leading end‑to‑end strategic sourcing activity across a specific spend portfolio. You will provide expertmercial guidance, ensuringpliance with UK Public Contract Regulations while shaping category strategies that deliver efficiency, sustainability, and strongmercial oues.
1. Leadingplex procurement exercises, from early market engagement through to contract award.
2. Supporting directorates in planning and prioritising procurement pipelines.
3. Providingmercial and contractual advice to influence decision‑making.
4. Developing category strategies aligned with organisational priorities.
5. Managing supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement.
6. Producing clear,pliant documentation including specifications, evaluation criteria, and contract schedules.
7. Coaching colleagues on procurement policy, procedures, and best practice.
This role requires a blend ofmercial insight, stakeholder and supplier management, and the ability to navigate a regulated public sector environment with confidence.
What you'll need to succeed
8. Strong experience operating in a public sector procurement environment, ideally within aplex, multi‑stakeholder organisation.
9. Excellent understanding of UK Public Contract Regulations PA23/PCR15 and strategic sourcing
10. Proven ability to act as a business partner – engaging, influencing, and challenging senior stakeholders.
11. Experience managing end‑to‑end procurement across a category.
12. Strong analytical,mercial, and negotiation skills.
13. Ability to work autonomously, prioritisepeting demands, and deliver high‑quality oues at pace.
14. MCIPS qualification (or working towards) is highly desirable.
