The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life.Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.
Job Description
We are recruiting for a Community Fundraiser to join our team in the South-West.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Full-time Permanent
Base: Homeworking with some flexibility to attend meetings and services in Cornwall, South-West, if and when required.
Salary: £22,000-£24,350 per annum, pro rata
The Community Fundraiser is responsible for building and nurturing relationships with supporters, volunteers, and fundraising groups to deliver Marie Curie’s community fundraising strategy. The role involves recruiting and managing volunteers, organising local fundraising campaigns and events, and providing excellent stewardship to individual and corporate supporters. It also includes promoting national campaigns at a local level, engaging with local media, and collaborating with internal teams to maximise income and awareness. The post holder is expected to meet income targets, maintain accurate records, and uphold Marie Curie’s values and policies while working flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
* Previous experience with the public (in-person or over the phone) in a customer/supporter facing environment
* Experience or knowledge of the charity sector and/or fundraising (desired)
* Able to engage with supporters and families in support of their fundraising activities.
* Good verbal and written communication skills demonstrating a sensitive approach
* Good IT skills including Word processing, email and spread sheets and a working knowledge of databases
* Live within a commutable distance to the services (Cornwall)
