Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place. The council and its partners have pledged to #BeTheDifference.
We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2025. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities - #BeTheDifference.
Are you newly qualified in Social Work and looking to get your career off to the best start?
Do you value a supportive environment where you will have access to regular reflective supervision, development opportunities and an effective ASYE programme? Are you passionate about using your newly acquired knowledge and practice experience to shape the futures of families in need? And do you want to understand how you can become an experienced social work within 2 years of post-qualifying?
If the answer to these questions is yes, then Wirral Council should be your employer of choice!
As an employer, we are committed to creating a positive, supportive environment for all our staff. We offer an outstanding range of benefits including competitive salaries, family-friendly employment initiatives and a generous annual leave entitlement.
This is an exiting opportunity for Newly Qualified Social Workers. You will be supported by an ASYE Coordinator and a Practice Improvement Team, where you will have access to a range of learning and development opportunities both to support your work with children and families but also to enable self-development and resilience building.
You will have access to a range of staff engagement events, led by visible leaders and managers. Our Wellbeing Manifesto offers a range of activities and information that supports you to stay fit, healthy and motivated in work whilst recognising that social work can often be challenging in supporting and protecting vulnerable children.
We want to make Wirral great for children and their families. Do you want to help #BeTheDifference for children, young people and families in Wirral? If you do then what are you waiting for?

It is Council policy not to re-appoint any employee who has left under the terms of the Council’s Early Voluntary Retirement (EVR) scheme or who have left with a voluntary severance (VS) package, unless in exceptional circumstances
