Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Waiting List Co‑ordinator for 37.5 hours per week in the Endoscopy waiting list team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic team player with an interest in waiting list management. The individual needs to be flexible, motivated, and possess good communication skills as they will be dealing with the general public. Good keyboard skills are essential; previous waiting list experience is desirable.

Responsibilities
* Work as part of the endoscopy waiting list team, administering waiting lists in line with Trust policies and procedures.
* Ensure elective admissions are processed effectively and that national and local access targets are met.
* Undertake systematic, regular validation of admission lists.
* Ensure all endoscopy sessions are booked to capacity working closely with the wider Endoscopy team.
* Agree admission dates with patients, send out letters and information regarding admission to hospital.
* Inform Endoscopy staff when special equipment needs to be ordered and ensure it is available at the time of the procedure.
* Deal with enquiries from patients and G.P.s about waiting times and admissions, including those involving suspected or confirmed cancer.
* Maintain specified waiting lists in accordance with Trust waiting list policies.
* Add patients to waiting lists in a timely manner, ensuring patient details are correct and complete.
* Arrange admissions in accordance with clinical priority (including cancer fast track) and by breach date.
* Use knowledge of case‑mix and equipment requirements when scheduling patients into Endoscopy sessions.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience
* Essential: Experience of working in NHS clerical.
* Desirable: Knowledge of waiting list administration.
Qualifications
* Essential: Educated to GCSE level in Maths and English.
* Essential: NVQ level 2 – Business and Admin (or equivalent).
* Desirable: NVQ level 3 – Business and Admin (or equivalent).
* Desirable: ECDL (European Computer Driving License).

* Essential: Full understanding of patient access targets.
* Essential: Able to adapt to changes in practice, policies, and procedures.
* Essential: Experience of dealing with the public/patients.
* Essential: Keyboard skills.
* Desirable: Knowledge of Trust PAS systems.
* Desirable: Experience and knowledge of Windows‑based applications.
* Essential: Good interpersonal skills.
* Essential: Ability to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.

* Essential: Positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
* Essential: Polite and courteous.
* Essential: Ability to relate to people from differing backgrounds.
* Essential: Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with staff and patients at varying levels of understanding.
