We are delighted to offer availability a role as a band 5 Podiatrist working within our Podiatry Team in South Essex. The service covers the Basildon area to the borders of Southend on Sea and Shoeburyness and provides a holistic approach to patient care, including wound care, home visits, biomechanics, and nail surgery. This role is part of the multidisciplinary foot team in the Acute Trust and is supported by the Podiatric Surgery Team Essex at Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities
• New patient assessment clinics, routine clinics, ulcer clinics and nail surgery, with opportunities to shadow specialist musculoskeletal podiatrists and specialist diabetes podiatrists within the multidisciplinary diabetic foot service.
• Work independently and as part of a team, providing high‑quality care in a variety of clinical settings.
• Travel across all areas of South Essex to collaborate with specialist teams, GPs, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and appropriate documentation, comply with Trust policies, and apply clinical governance and risk management principles.
• Participate in audits, research, surveys, and propose service improvements and transformation within the department.
• Facilitate and deliver training and education to patients, students, and other health professionals; supervise and monitor students and apprentices.
• Act professionally in customer care, respond to complaints, and provide peer support to all healthcare professionals across the Trust.
Qualifications
* Degree or diploma in Podiatric Medicine
* Certificate for Local Anaesthesia
* Register with the HCPC
* Car driver/owner essential, with a business mileage scheme available
* Subject to Enhanced DBS disclosure and the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975
