Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: Wessex Lodge School, Frome, Somerset BA11 4LA
Salary: £20,906.25 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start: October 2026

We are part of Outcomes First Group and operate 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trials where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours) while receiving full-time pay. 4DWW is subject to successful probation and is not a contractual benefit.
About The Role
Join a close-knit team at Wessex Lodge School to create supportive, nurturing environments where pupils achieve more than expected. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work directly with pupils with varied and complex needs, guiding their learning journeys with tailored support.
You will help prepare learning materials, run classroom activities, and provide hands-on support. You will assist with emotional and physical needs to support pupils’ personal development and engagement with learning. Daily activities will vary, with guidance and opportunities for growth in your career.
Additional Opportunities
There are opportunities for additional paid responsibilities across Outdoor Education, Farm, Horticulture, and Forest School. These roles allow you to expand skills, lead projects, and enhance pupil experiences.
Who We’re Looking For
We seek adaptable individuals who can work in classroom and outdoor settings, responding to individual pupil needs. You will be part of a team built on collaboration and mutual support, capable of leading activities, outdoor experiences, and student trips as required.
Qualifications Required
* English and Maths GCSE essential
* TA qualification desirable
* Full UK Driving Licence
