Employment Solicitor - Northamptonshire Police

Northamptonshire Police is continuing to invest in its in-house legal function and is looking for an Employment Solicitor to join a growing, highly regarded team. Alongside a varied employment caseload, you'll have the opportunity to develop expertise in areas that few employment lawyers encounter, including police misconduct proceedings, inquests and coronial work.

The Role
You will be the team's employment law specialist, advising on a broad range of workforce matters and managing Employment Tribunal claims from start to finish. Working closely with HR and senior stakeholders across the organisation, you'll provide practical, commercially minded advice on issues including:
* Employee relations matters
* Disciplinary and grievance processes
* Policies and procedures
* Employment Tribunal litigation
* Organisational change and workforce issues
You'll also have the opportunity to support colleagues on police misconduct hearings, inquests and coronial matters. Previous experience in these areas is not required. Full training and support will be provided.

About You
You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx with solid employment law experience gained in private practice, local government, the wider public sector or another in-house environment. You will also bring:
* Strong technical employment law knowledge
* The ability to provide clear, practical advice
* Confidence building relationships with stakeholders at all levels
* A collaborative and personable approach
* An interest in developing expertise in new areas of practice
The Package
* Salary of £56,133 - £66,648
* Hybrid working with typically one to two days per week in Northampton
* Flexitime scheme with the ability to accrue additional leave

* 25 days annual leave, rising to 30 days after three years' service
