Supplier Manager (HR, Shared Services, FS focus) - Principal Associate
About This Role
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join Capital One’s UK Supplier Management Office (SMO) as a Supplier Manager. The SMO is responsible for the end‑to‑end third‑party lifecycle for Capital One in the UK, including sourcing, contracting and ongoing supplier / vendor and relationship management. You’ll play a key role in managing assigned third‑party suppliers, supporting business area stakeholders, and overseeing the holistic relationship between Capital One and the assigned third parties to ensure a stable and effective supply chain.
What You’ll Do
* Be the assigned Supplier Relationship Manager for your key relationships, responsible for all activities to comply with Capital One's Third‑Party Management Policy at all stages of the supplier life cycle (Due Diligence, Selection, Contracting, Onboarding, Monitoring, Offboarding).
* Work with peers in SMO, Risk and Governance, and Sourcing teams.
* Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders, managing governance to facilitate communication.
* Build detailed knowledge of supplier businesses to deliver best service and establish longer‑term strategic paths.
* Work closely with internal customers to understand issues, propose continuous improvement, and lead discussions with suppliers to drive value.
* Build market knowledge and insight for your category, evolving relationships and supporting category/supplier strategy.
* Act as a proficient contract manager, liaising with legal to amend, vary, renew and add to contractual arrangements.
* Ensure business goals are met through performance, risk and relationship oversight, and compliance with TPM policy.
* Travel to Capital One and third‑party sites as required.
What We Are Looking For
* Relevant Supplier Relationship Management experience with demonstrable outcomes; specialisation in supplier relationship management, commercial, risk, analytical, problem‑resolution skills (desirable).
* Excellent communication, relationship building and stakeholder management skills (essential).
* Risk management experience as core component; attention to detail and compliance with policies (desirable).
* Contracting experience with Framework Agreements, MSAs and SOWs (desirable).
* Ability to build strong internal and external relationships (essential).
* Team player focused on individual and collective success (essential).
* Enthusiasm for supplier relationship management and commitment to developing end‑to‑end lifecycle specialism (desirable).
* Experience in HR/G&A Procurement category (desirable).
Where and How You’ll Work
This is a permanent role based in Nottingham. A hybrid working model offers flexibility to work from the office and home; typically you will be in the office Tues‑Thu, with usage driven by work type and team patterns.
