Health and Safety Cluster Advisor – 37.5 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to £40,000 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)
This is a full‑time role of 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will cover a flexible shift pattern across six sites located between Huddersfield, Darlington and Nottingham. The position is considered entry‑level and welcomes applicants with a range of relevant experience.
Duties of this role
* Provide clear advice to Senior Management Teams on compliance with legislation, guidance and policies, and actively support implementation.
* Help demonstrate appropriate compliance with health and safety standards to CHG’s regulators (CQC, HIS, HIW, HSE, EA, local government agents and other stakeholders).
* Collaborate and communicate with the HSCL to improve health and safety performance, consistency and compliance across shared cluster sites.
* Coordinate designated H&S time allocation for each site with the HSCL.
* Identify and share lessons learned following incidents in the cluster.
* Contribute to corporate projects and initiatives such as policy development, research and training.
* Escalate intolerable H&S risks to the Operational Manager/Director and propose practicable improvements.
Applicants should meet the following criteria
* Healthcare experience with some health and safety exposure, or substantial experience in a health and safety role.
* A Level 3 qualification is desirable; candidates working toward it will be considered.
* H&S professional registration (IOSH) or willingness to apply for registration.
* Fire safety skills.
* Competency as a risk assessor.
* Contractor safety management skills.
* Experience in undertaking audits.
