About the role:
Yorkshire Cancer Research exists so that more people across our region can live longer, healthier lives free from cancer. As the largest independent regional cancer charity in England, we fund pioneering research, improve access to world-leading treatments and work to ensure that people diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire have the very best chance of survival. Every week, almost people in Yorkshire receive a cancer diagnosis and our ambition is bold; to invest over £ million over the next decade to tackle Yorkshire’s biggest cancer issues and transform outcomes for generations to come.
We are now seeking an exceptional individual to join our Board as a Trustee, bringing active networks and deep expertise in fundraising or business development to support the charity through an important period of strategic growth and income diversification.
This is an opportunity to contribute at the highest level of governance, help shape long-term organisational strategy and ensure strong stewardship, accountability and impact. Working collaboratively with fellow Trustees and the executive team, you will provide constructive challenge, strategic insight and independent judgement, supporting the development of sustainable income streams, strategic partnerships and new opportunities for growth aligned to our ambitious investment plans.
You may be a senior fundraising leader, business development specialist, a fundraising consultant who is actively engaged across the sector, or a Chief Executive with experience of driving organisational growth through income generation and external engagement. You will bring sound judgement, strategic perspective and the ability to operate effectively within a collegiate and high-performing Board environment, alongside a genuine commitment to improving cancer outcomes across Yorkshire.
