Position Summary
HR and HSSE Manager
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a proactive, experienced HR Manager with a solid understanding of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) practices to support the UK head office and multiple European sites. This role combines strategic HR leadership with a hands-on approach to people management, policy implementation, and health & safety best practices.
The successful candidate will spend approximately 70% of their time at the Sittingbourne office and 30% travelling across European sites.

Key Responsibilities
Act as a trusted HR advisor to UK and European site managers, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and talent development.
Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures across the group to ensure consistency and legal compliance in all jurisdictions.
Partner with local HSSE teams to integrate health and safety awareness into HR practices and culture.
Support incident reporting processes, return-to-work programs, and promote a safety-first mindset across all operations.
Manage full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement, and exit processes.
Collaborate with senior management on organisational development, workforce planning, and succession planning initiatives.
Lead or contribute to pan-European HR projects and policy standardisation efforts.
Travel to sites across Europe to provide on-the-ground HR support, conduct audits, and ensure HR and HSSE alignment.
Ensure compliance with employment laws across all relevant countries.
Provide reporting and insights to leadership on HR and HSSE-related KPIs.
HR and HSSE Manager
Required Experience & Skills
3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist or HR business partner role, preferably in a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial setting.
Demonstrable understanding of HSSE standards and practices within a corporate or operational environment.
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law; familiarity with European HR practices is a plus.
French language skills are highly desirable.
Experience working in a multi-site or international organisation.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
Willingness and ability to travel across Europe.

CIPD Level 5 or above.
NEBOSH Certificate or other relevant HSSE qualification.
