Offer description

Up to £16,020 per annum, increasing to £24,256 per annum., upon successful completion of your Apprenticeship Programme

Runshaw College has long been recognised as one of the most successful colleges in the country, renowned locally and nationally for our exceptional results, friendly and supportive culture and focus on putting the learner at the heart of all that we do.

Our shared vision provides the focus for our work: to be a Great Place to Study, a Great Place to Work, and a Great Place for Partnerships. Please see the Strategic Plan on the college website, for full details of our vision and objectives.

Additional Learning Support (ALS) at Runshaw aims to enable students to maximise their potential. We view it as a positive model offering support for all students with learning difficulties or disabilities, playing a central role in supporting individual students to achieve their best and we have worked hard to ensure there is no stigma attached to using the service.
The team provides a range of support to meet the needs of individual students. This includes assistance with literacy, numeracy and study skills, personal care support, support for disabilities e.g. Dyslexia, Sensory & Physical Impairment, Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia, and Moderate Learning Difficulties, as well as individual support on a one to one basis. All students, regardless of need, are recommended a package of support that is linked to their primary learning aim.
The Additional Learning Support team is led by the Head of ALS and there is a Senior Coordinator who has responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the service. Working alongside them are Exam Access Arrangement Assessors and Coordinators, High Needs & Specialist Support Coordinators, Education Support Workers (ESWs) and ESW Team Leaders.
The Additional Learning Support Administration function has an important role, providing efficient and effective administrative and clerical support to the Additional Learning Support team. Duties may change from time to time to meet changing circumstances but will include all the duties deemed appropriate to supporting the Additional Learning Support function. These will include general office and reception duties including answering the telephone, electronic filing and scheduling appointments and meetings. An important part of the role includes minute-taking in reviews.

We are seeking to appoint an individual who will undertake further training and complete an Apprenticeship Programme.
