NEAT is looking for an experienced leader to join us as Chair of our Trust Board of Directors. There are exciting transitions and opportunities for the trust: are you someone who can take that in your stride and bring your skills and expertise to guide and shape our future? If so, we want to hear from you. We are a mixed Multi-Academy Trust, with eight schools (6 primary, 2 secondary) and a mix of community and Church of England schools. We are fully inclusive, working with a range of stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes and destinations for our pupils. We also have a national research school, which aims to build and strengthen networks of schools throughout the region and help them access effective education research and implement it in everyday practice. The skills and experience you will bring will include: · good understanding of leadership in a multi-academy trust and factors influencing the academy sector · good understanding of the impact of contextual factors on inclusive education · leading or managing change and/or organisational growth · leading a Board of Non-Executive Directors and wider governance community · excellent interpersonal, communication and team building skills · ability to analyse, organise, prioritise, and delegate You will have availability to lead the Board which meets approximately once each half term, with committee and other meetings happening at other times. These are usually held late afternoon/early evening during term-time, although the Board are keen to explore different ways of working. You will also have flexibility to be able to support the trust, including meetings with Senior Leaders, signing documents, and to meet with Inspectors. There may be additional requests including occasional decision-making panels (eg, complaints, appointments, and appeals), and development/training. You would have around 6-8hrs per week to give to the role. NEAT takes safeguarding seriously, and all governance volunteers are required to undertake a vetting process (including DBS check) during appointment to best safeguard our pupils and schools.
