Logistics and Trade Compliance Co-ordinator

The role:
You will be accountable for despatch, logistics, transport, and trade compliance for all inbound/outbound shipments to/from customers, manufacturing subcontractors, returns to vendors, and plant-to-plant transfers. You will plan and process dispatches or collections from customers or vendors, arrange appropriate transportation (including dangerous goods) efficiently and economically, aligned with Johnson Matthey’s aims and objectives.
You will represent HT as a point of contact for the JM Group Customs and Trade team, in addition to JM Product Stewardship. Responsibilities include KPI reporting, auditing service providers (internal and external), and managing trade-related master data, systems/tools, and associated work instructions and procedures within HT.
As a Logistics and Trade Coordinator, you will help drive our goals by:
* Planning and processing outbound dispatches and transport both in the UK and internationally, including quotations and documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
* Minimising security risks to JM by ensuring shipments are via pre-approved logistics providers, especially when JM is liable for insurance.
* Coordinating advance planning of shipments with Customer Support, Quality, Warehouse, and Production teams to ensure timely deliveries with the correct quality standards.
* Ensuring compliance with all duty and customs controls, including documentation, tariff codes, and licenses as applicable.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
* Degree qualified in Logistics or Economics (Desirable)
* Experience of international shipping (Essential)
* Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (Essential)
* Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Transportation (Desirable)
* Understanding of import/export legislation (Essential)
