If you're looking for a career change and want to join our dynamic and dedicated Linen Team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, then this will be the role for you.

This is a part-time position working 22.5 hours per week, Mon - Fri 07.30am - 12.00pm.

Pay is pro-rata for part-time position

To provide a cost-effective and efficient linen service to all service users, including Trust staff, patients, and external customers.

As part of our dedicated linen team, you will find that no two days are the same. You will ensure that a cost-effective and efficient service is provided to all users, including patients, staff, and external customers.

Key responsibilities include:

* Use of machinery to wash, iron, and press linen.
* Ensure linen is washed in accordance with national and local guidance.
* Loading and unloading linen into and out of all washers.
* Replenish supplies to all machinery.
* Ensure infected linen is washed per departmental instructions/guidance.
* Loading and unloading linen into and out of tumble dryers.
* Clean machinery and filters as appropriate.
* Feed and take linen off ironers.
* Dry and fold linen, then place on shelves/stillages.
* Mark linen in the laundry room.
* Prepare and press linen.
* Packing linen for dispatch and ward-level storage according to departmental procedures.
* Dispatch linen to designated areas via internal or external transport.
* Assist with collections and deliveries of linen.
* Unload laundry and linen supplies.
* Transport linen and supplies from laundry, sewing room, or dry cleaners.
* Maintain documentation for internal and external records.
* Identify stains and repairs, redirect as needed.
* Produce linen/uniforms following ISO 9000 standards.
* Report machine faults and breakdowns.
* Follow procedures for machinery start-up and shutdown.
* Report health and safety issues, working in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
* Store linen, equipment, and chemicals correctly.
* Maintain cleanliness of all areas and machinery.
* Ensure premises security.
* Transfer linen between departments as required.
* Collect and deliver staff uniforms and ensure supply via auto valet machines.
* Promote good working relationships across the Trust.
* Maintain personnel appearance and hygiene standards.
* Participate in annual stock counts.
* Maintain auto valet equipment.
* Assist drivers with linen delivery and collection.
