Main Purpose of Role
Our Engineering team are looking for a Electromechanical engineer to support our manufacturing departments.
Key Accountabilities
* Design, develop and commission automation systems to support production processes, such as Assembly lines, Finish Goods Testing, fixtures and equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency.
* Maintain the current production processes to safety, quality and cost targets.
* Address technical issues in the manufacturing process by identifying the root cause and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
* Identify and lead process improvement projects.
* Assist with testing methods and equipment to ensure the successful commissioning of production functionality.
Role Responsibilities
* Analyse, design, and optimize mechanical and electrical systems (Automation) within the manufacturing process.
* Support CAPEX projects from design to implementation
* Utilize drawing software packages (AutoCAD) to create and modify technical drawings and schematics.
* Troubleshoot, diagnosing and repair faults in mechanical and electrical systems
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, quality control, and production teams, to improve workflow and resolve production challenges.
* Conduct system tests to ensure validation of finish good products and proper operation of test bays
* Identify and lead process improvement projects.
* Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the workplace.
Essential Criteria
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or comparable industrial experience working as a Electrical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Automation Engineer.
* A minimum of 5 years previous engineering work experience in an industrial environment.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, ideally with a working knowledge of AutoCAD, or others.
* Strong technical knowledge electrical and mechanical principles for a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in implementing automated machinery and electromechanical production lines
* A solid electrical PLC background
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement, to enhance manufacturing efficiency, and support continuous quality initiatives.
* Knowledge of conducting risk assessments and implementing safety protocols
Travel
You will be required to travel to other Glen Dimplex facilities as well as occasionally visit other businesses e.g. customers, equipment suppliers as required.
