Nick Kenward Construction Ltd., based in Newdigate, Surrey, is a leading provider of groundworks and construction services in Southeast England, with over 20 years of experience. The company serves a wide range of clients, including commercial, agricultural, industrial sectors, and private individuals. Known for delivering projects within agreed timelines and budgets, the company focuses on quality work, rigorous health and safety practices, and environmental responsibility.

The Workshop Manager is a full-time hybrid role based in Newdigate, Surrey. In this role, you will oversee.

* Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant machinery, including vans, excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment.
* Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
* Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of vans & machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
* Parts Replacement: Replace worn or damaged parts, ensuring the use of high‑quality components.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent on each task.
* Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics, operators, and site managers to ensure vans & machinery are available and operational when needed.


Qualifications

* Strong technical skills in tools, equipment maintenance, and repair processes
* Organizational and planning capabilities, including scheduling and resource management skills
* Leadership and team management experience with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and adherence to compliance standards
* Problem‑solving aptitude and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
* IT proficiency and basic spreadsheet skills
* Prior experience in the construction or groundwork industry is a significant advantage
