About the role
Working Tuesday - Saturday on a variable 8-hour shift pattern on a 12-month fixed-term contract, you will be responsible for:
1. Processing customer orders and routing them effectively on delivery vehicles.
2. Preparing and managing daily transport plans, including subcontractor routing.
3. Coordinating with DFDS depots and external partners on delivery requirements.
4. Using customer production systems to retrieve and process order information.
5. Responding to customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
6. Ensuring accurate and timely communication across internal departments.
7. Supporting the preparation of internal transport reports and documentation.
About you
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a fast-paced transport or logistics environment, with strong geographical knowledge of the UK. They will possess high attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, and be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal abilities. An adaptable and flexible approach allows them to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. As a team player, they take pride in delivering excellent customer service. Additionally, they have solid IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.), and experience in transport planning, with a CPC preferred.
