Overview
Are you an experienced and enthusiastic speech and language therapist with a passion for working with adults with dysfluency? We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced SLT to join our friendly team across east and west Kent.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical expertise and leadership for the service to adults with dysfluency.
* Hold dysfluency clinics in Canterbury and Maidstone.
* Manage a general adult community neurological caseload within the Ashford South Kent locality.
* Contribute to improving communication, eating and drinking for service users and their lives.
* Receive regular management and clinical supervision.
We are a CQC-rated OUTSTANDING Trust with a friendly and welcoming service. We offer excellent clinical supervision (individual and group) and regular in-service training days. The service consists of about 25 therapists and assistant practitioners.
Qualifications and experience
* Essential: HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
* Essential: Post-graduate development at Level 6 with training/qualifications relevant to dysfluency and neurology/adult acquired disorders (e.g., dysphagia, counselling, dysfluency approaches, Personal Construct Psychology).
* Desirable: Leadership or management training.
* Essential: Experience working with dysfluency and adult neurological caseloads; experience with service development, quality improvement, mentoring/supervision; competence in outcome measures and audits.
* Desirable: Significant experience in general adult neurology community caseload; leading service development or quality improvement; delivering training or presentations.
* Essential: Ability to develop partnerships across organisational boundaries and contribute to research or service evaluation (desirable).
Skills and attributes
* Excellent clinical reasoning and decision-making; ability to evaluate and implement best practice.
* Effective time management and ability to prioritise under pressure.
* Motivated and proactive in clinical and service development; able to motivate and lead change.
* Desirable: Leadership potential and ability to inspire others; skills in delivering group therapy or workshops for people who stammer.
