About Majoritas Academy
Last year, when almost half of the world’s population went to the polls, there were 5 million candidates standing in India alone. In Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto became the most voted-for person in human history. Democracy is alive, but it’s messy, sometimes dysfunctional and often under threat.
At Majoritas Academy, we’re building a global platform to train the people who roll up their sleeves and make democracy work: political campaigners.
Spinning out from a top-tier political consultancy, Majoritas Academy aims to become the leading global platform for teaching political campaign skills. The academy won’t merely impart skills and teach campaigners how to win but seeks to reverse the deepening chasms of polarisation and partisanship that challenge our modern political discourse.
What You’ll Do
We’re looking for a curious, collaborative and entrepreneurial Learning Designer to help shape the learning experiences at the heart of Majoritas Academy.
You’ll:
* Work closely with our senior learning designers to create incredible courses, contributing at every stage of the process, from shaping raw product briefs into course concepts to reviewing and refining the final learning experience.
* Review transcripts of interviews with campaigners, politicians and experts, like Jose Manual Barroso or Martha Spurrier, to find the great stories and useful heuristics to turn into compelling courses.
* Turn raw insights into structured, practical learning. Sequence content, design activities and write copy (scripts, instructions, tasks) grounded in learning theory.
* Use visual design tools, and become an expert in our learning management system, so that you can build courses which are beautiful and impactful. Upload, edit and organise content on our LMS.
* Keep lots of plates spinning at once: You might be helping prep a Prime Minister’s chief of staff for a video shoot in the morning, then hopping into a sprint session with developers to wireframe a new tool in the afternoon.
* Use your project management chops to keep complex course builds on track. Schedule key milestones, reviews and feedback sessions at the right moments. You’ll juggle timelines, stakeholders, and moving parts across content, design, tech, and production teams.
You’ll Love This Role If You…
* Are endlessly curious and comfortable diving into domains you haven’t yet mastered.
* Are highly conscientious, get satisfaction from making complex projects run seamlessly and are comfortable managing multiple priorities and shifting timelines.
* Understand how people learn and how learning sticks.
* Thrive as a generalist. You're comfortable wearing many hats and switching contexts quickly.
* Don’t mind rolling up your sleeves, whether that’s tweaking a script, organising logistics for a production day, updating an LMS, or proofing slides the night before launch.
* Want your work to matter. We're shaping the next generation of democratic leaders.
What You Bring
* A couple of years experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or edtech product management ideally in an edtech scale up or the more agile kind of corporate. You know the ropes but you’re keen to learn and progress.
* A few more years of professional experience prior to that. It’s fine if you’ve changed careers, for example you might have been a classroom teacher.
* Familiarity with LMSs and authoring tools like Articulate or LearnDash.
* Experience with design tools like Canva and maybe even Figma. You care about how learning looks as well as how it works.
* Fluency with project management and collaboration tools like Asana, Trello, Notion or Airtable and a comfort level switching between platforms.
* You use AI tools to enhance your workflows, streamline production, and spark creativity.
* An eye for quality and a bias for shipping.
Why Majoritas Academy?
Because we believe campaigners are the change agents of democracy. Our mission is to upgrade democracy by training the next generation of political campaign managers, equipping them not just to win, but to win with integrity. We’ve distilled lessons from over 50 campaigns around the world into what we call The Majoritas Way; a blend of storytelling, strategy, and science.
You'll be joining a globally-minded, mission-driven team that blends Silicon Valley product thinking, democratic values, and a track record of impact on the ground. If you're excited by the idea of designing education for the people shaping elections around the world, we’d love to talk.
How to apply
If this sounds like your kind of role, we’d love to see a quick intro from you. Please include in your CV (or message me directly on LinkedIn) a link to a short (max 3-minute) video. Introduce yourself then use the time to either (1) show us how you use AI in a current workflow, or (2) walk us through a piece of learning design you’re proud of. A Loom video or similar is ideal - we want to see you and some of your work. No need for polish though; we’re just looking for insight into how you think and create.
