To provide safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicles by performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs, as well as expert diagnosis and repair, to prevent breakdowns, reduce vehicle downtime, and improve fleet reliability.
Responsibilities include:
* Performing inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
* Conducting FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections on all fleet vehicles and equipment according to regulations.
* Performing quality repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, HVAC, and more, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
* Addressing Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups promptly.
* Documenting all work performed.
* Learning and developing efficiency in Sysco computer programs.
* Performing electrical meter testing, electrical repairs, and welding projects as needed.
Qualifications include:
* Medium/heavy duty truck technical training.
* High school diploma or GED, with 2-year school plus 1 year experience or 3 years fleet maintenance experience.
* Current valid driver’s license.
* Certifications such as Annual Inspector Certification, Brake Inspector Certification, ASE certifications preferred, 609 HVAC Certification.
* Skills include diagnostic software proficiency, vehicle systems knowledge, electrical systems diagnosis, preventive maintenance, basic welding and computer skills, and knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
Physical demands include operating equipment, standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, grasping tools, and performing repetitive motions. The work environment involves exposure to various weather conditions, moving parts, confined spaces, occasional travel, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. The associate frequently works outdoors.
