Job Description
Johnsons 1871 is a parent group encompassing various consumer and mainly B2B brands operating in moving, asset management, project, and facilities management sectors. Our services add significant value beyond simple moving, utilizing innovative tools for asset tracking and a sustainability-first approach, aiming for market leadership and continuous improvement.
Job Role
Moving household and office furniture and items to new premises or storage, working in small to large teams.
This role is on a zero-hours contract, with potential for permanent employment after 3 months, contingent on performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
* Household and office relocations
* Handling goods in and out of storage
* Managing large projects like hospital, library, or school equipment moves
* Specialist moves for fine art and furniture
Daily Tasks
* Safely packaging items for removal or storage
* Wrapping and protecting furniture for shipping, including overseas
* Pre-move wrapping and packing delicate items
* Protecting fragile items such as electronics or antiques
* Disassembling large furniture for transport
* Removing curtains, lifting carpets, and dismantling doors or windows as needed
* Packing, loading, and securing items in vehicles
* Driving to the new location, unloading, reassembling, and placing items as instructed
* Unwrapping and unpacking at the destination
Requirements
Working Hours: Flexible, as needed, including possible overnight stays for longer-distance moves.
Driving license preferred but not essential.
Experience in removals or similar roles is advantageous.
