Job Description:
Salt is currently partnered with a global MSP provider who requires a Servicenow Data Governance Engineer to join on an initial 12-month rolling contract.
The role is hybrid (Surrey/SW London) and inside IR35. The day rate is negotiable DOE, with a maximum of £370 per day.
Duties
We are seeking a Data Governance Engineer responsible for enriching, managing, and ensuring the quality of organizational and product usage data, focusing on efficient query writing. They will enforce data governance policies, develop documentation on data assets, and ensure data integrity.
Role includes:
* Instrument data collection on the ServiceNow platform
* Maintain an understanding of data flow within the business
* Identify data integrity issues and conduct root cause analyses
* Develop workflows, processes, SLAs, and documentation for data governance
Skills
* 5+ years in big data analytics, database management, or related analyst roles
* 3+ years developing on the ServiceNow platform
* Proficiency in PL/SQL and an object-oriented programming language
* Experience with big data platforms like Cloudera, Azure, Snowflake, etc.
* Structured thinking and impactful data modeling skills
* Experience rolling out analytics dashboards (Power BI, Tableau)
* Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
Education & Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
* Knowledge of ServiceNow platform and products
* Experience in Scrum/Agile environments
* Familiarity with ITSM, PaaS, and SaaS
