Lead DevOps Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Lead DevOps Engineer to join our growing team in Newcastle City Centre. As a key member of our technical team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical landscape of our organization.

The Role

You will work on high-impact projects, leveraging your skills to deliver innovative solutions that align with global trends and business needs. Key responsibilities include:

* Automating infrastructure and environments to streamline operations.
* Owning and optimizing Continuous Integration infrastructure.
* Developing advanced monitoring and diagnostics systems.
* Delivering end-user automation solutions that drive business value.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We're looking for well-educated, ambitious DevOps professionals with a strong technical foundation and excellent communication skills. Ideal candidates will have:

* Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages.
* Coding experience in C#, Java, or Python (prior developer experience is a plus).
* Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
* Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or Docker Swarm).
* Familiarity with monitoring tools like ELK, Grafana, or similar.
* Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ideally with TeamCity.
* Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows/Linux administration.
* A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related field, preferably from a top-tier university.

Bonus Skills

While not essential, experience with the following is highly desirable:

* Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, JIRA).
* Artifact storage (Artifactory).
* Octopus Deploy or static analysis tools (e.g., SonarQube).
* Control-M, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), or VMware (vSphere)/SAN.
* Exposure to financial services is a plus but not required.
