We're looking for a compassionate, skilled Day Surgery Nurse to join our fast‑paced and patient‑focused day surgery unit. You'll play a key role in delivering high‑quality perioperative care, supporting patients through pre‑assessment, admission, recovery, and discharge. South theatres specialise in general surgery and urology. We have eight theatres: seven for elective surgery and one for emergency surgery.
Responsibilities
* Provide safe, evidence‑based nursing care throughout the day surgery journey
* Conduct pre‑operative assessments and ensure patients are fully prepared for procedures
* Assist with admissions, patient education, and discharge planning
* Monitor patients, recognising and responding to changes in condition
* Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and the multidisciplinary team
* Maintain accurate documentation and uphold clinical governance standards
* Contribute to a positive, supportive, and patient‑centred environment
