Supply Desk is working in partnership with a well-regarded independent through school in the Horsham area, who are seeking a knowledgeable and inspiring Business and Economics Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis from September 2026. About the Role
As a Business and Economics Teacher, you will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5. You will be responsible for fostering a strong understanding of business principles and economic theory, while encouraging critical thinking, real-world application, and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality Business and Economics lessons aligned with GCSE and A-Level specifications
* Teach across KS4 and KS5, supporting students to achieve excellent academic outcomes
* Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
* Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively
* Create an engaging, inclusive, and academically rigorous classroom environment
* Prepare students for examinations and coursework requirements
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental and whole-school goals
* Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as enterprise activities or academic clubs
Candidate Profile
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching Business and/or Economics at secondary level, including KS5 (desirable)
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for business and economics education
* Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
* Ability to inspire and challenge high-achieving students
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to high standards and student achievement
* Enthusiasm for working within an independent school environment
Requirements
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Two professional teaching references
* Eligibility to work in the UK
