Your new role
As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients, predominantly small and owner-managed businesses. You will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping and act as a key point of contact for your clients.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients
2. Preparing and submitting VAT returns and supporting with credit control
3. Providing all-round accounting support
4. Assisting with the preparation of management and year-end accounts
5. Working with cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero and Dext
6. Supporting the ongoing digitisation of processes and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements
7. Assisting with payroll where required (desirable but not essential)
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will:
8. Have prior experience working within an accountancy practice
9. Be confident managing your own client portfolio independently
10. Have strong working knowledge of Xero (certification advantageous) and befortable using digital accounting systems
11. Demonstrate a proactive and forward-thinking approach, with a genuine interest in technology and process improvement
12. Possess a strong work ethic with the ability to take ownership and responsibility for your workload
What you'll get in return
Apetitive salary package of £28,000 to £32,000 (depending on experience)
