An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Sealing Project Engineer to join a forward thinking automotive engineering environment supporting the development of next generation vehicle body systems and closures.
The successful candidate will join a specialist Body Engineering team responsible for the design and development of vehicle sealing systems, closures, glazing and body components. This role will involve taking ownership of sealing commodities from concept through to launch while ensuring delivery against quality, cost and timing targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the delivery of sealing commodities across vehicle programmes
2. Create and manage engineering releases and technical documentation
3. Define and deliver system and component performance targets
4. Drive DFMEA, lessons learned and failure prevention activities
5. Lead cross functional design and assembly reviews
6. Work closely with manufacturing, programme and supplier teams to ensure engineering feasibility
7. Support virtual and physical build activities from issue identification through to resolution
8. Manage CAD workload and interface coordination across internal and external teams
9. Develop engineering documentation to support purchasing and supplier quotation activities
10. Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex engineering issues
11. Support development of rigs and validation activities for Failure Mode Avoidance processes
Required Experience
12. Proven experience within automotive sealing engineering
13. Strong understanding of sealing systems, manufacturing techniques and relevant legislation
14. Experience working within pre production and vehicle launch environments
15. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across engineering and programme teams
16. Strong communication and presentation skills
Desirable Skills
17. Knowledge of Siemens NX and TeamCenter
18. Experience with Failure Mode Avoidance methodologies
19. Familiarity with automotive product creation and launch processes
20. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint

Qualifications
27. Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent industry experience preferred

29. Occasional travel may be required to support build events, supplier visits and technical reviews.
