Community Engagement Manager – Scotland
Overview
EZO are a fast-growing Irish electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure company, recently launched in Scotland as part of our UK expansion. Through long-term partnerships with Scottish local authorities, we design, install, and operate public EV charging networks that support the transition to sustainable transport.
As part of our council contracts, we are committed to delivering meaningful community engagement programmes that ensure our infrastructure benefits local residents, businesses, and stakeholders.
As a result of above, we are seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Community Engagement Manager to lead our community engagement commitments across Scotland.
This is a field-based role requiring regular travel throughout Scotland to engage with councils, community groups, businesses, and residents. The successful candidate will play a vital role in building trusted local relationships and ensuring we exceed our contractual social value and community outreach obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver community engagement programmes aligned with council contract requirements.
Organise and attend community meetings, information sessions, and local events.
Act as the primary local point of contact for residents and stakeholders.
Develop educational initiatives promoting EV adoption and sustainable transport.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local authority representatives.
Provide regular engagement reports in line with contractual commitments.
Support councils with communications around EV infrastructure rollouts.
Respond professionally and promptly to stakeholder queries.
Identify opportunities to collaborate with local businesses, schools, and community organisations.
Coordinate participation in sustainability events and regional exhibitions.
Develop local case studies and impact stories.
Drive extensively across Scotland to attend meetings, site visits, and events.
Represent the company professionally across diverse communities, including rural and urban areas.
Manage a flexible schedule to accommodate evening or occasional weekend events.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, or public affairs.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
Comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across Scotland.
Excellent organisational and reporting skills.
Experience working with local authorities or public sector contracts.
Knowledge of EV infrastructure, sustainability, or renewable energy sectors is an advantage.
Understanding of social value commitments in public procurement.
Experience working across geographically dispersed communities.
