PE Global is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer for our industrial manufacturing client based in Desford. The role is an initial 9-month contract and the rate for this role is £23.98 - £32.84 p/h.
Responsibilities:
* Proactively identify business opportunities, assess overall impact and justify to senior stakeholders for capital investment.
* Lead complex manufacturing problem resolution, including investigation and solution implementation.
* Project management – Full scope, development, budgets, resources and management of NPI or Improvement projects (Technology/Efficiency/Quality) from initiation to production and program completion.
* Facilitate the development of manufacturing process solutions work with functional teams, using a range of tools e.g. process flows, PFMEA’s, control plans. Promote lean and quality as a focus within the business.
* Monitor and report on project health, including issue management to ensure People, Quality, Velocity and Cost targets are achieved.
* Identify opportunities for automation and robotics, and bring to implementation.
* Developing equipment specifications and installation requirements and ensuring that the equipment is safe and meets the needs of manufacturing.
* Working with facility teams to establish the correct suppliers and managing timelines to ensure successful delivery and implementation.
Requirements:
* Degree in a manufacturing or engineering field, or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering or design engineering.
* Problem solving ability.
* Experience of lean manufacturing.
* NPI experience in automotive, heavy equipment manufacture, aerospace or submarines.
* Experience in automotive, heavy equipment manufacture, aerospace or submarines.
* Experience of Teamcenter and Microsoft Office would be advantageous.
