AtkinsRéalis is one of the leading names in the field of Surface Water Management (SWM) and shaping the dialogue within the UK and internationally in how drainage should become an integrated part of green blue infrastructure and master planning. By joining our team, you will be joining a multi-disciplinary team with a national remit to work with a variety of clients including water companies, local authorities, highways and rail authorities, and developers on major projects. The individual will work closely with technical experts in this field and have the potential to develop into the regional point of contact for Surface Water Management and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS). The individual will develop/provide technical expertise, mentoring other staff and liaising with key clients across the field. Ideally, we seek to recruit a candidate who has experience in drainage and SuDS. The person should also have an interest in planning, ecology, landscape architecture, environmental economics, and management.
The current Belfast water team includes a range of geographers, GIS specialists, modellers, and engineers and play a key role in delivering to a range of clients including Water Companies, Local Authorities, and developers.
Requirements:
* Degree in relevant subject.
* Appropriate experience post-graduation.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience in drainage design including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS).
* Knowledge of industry standard drainage networks design.
* Competence in the use of AutoCAD and Hydraulic modelling – preferably Microdrainage.
* Proven track record in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects on time and to budget.
* First class written and oral communication skills.
* A natural curiosity for developing innovative, sustainable and cost-effective solutions for our clients.
* Experience of team working on multi-disciplinary projects.
* Competence in the use of Civil3D.
* Sound commercial understanding.
* Team builder, developing the technical excellence of our team.
* Able to develop and motivate others.
* Proven record of developing client relationships.
* Attained or working towards relevant professional qualification.
Responsibilities:
* Develop concepts & designs for drainage and SuDS to different Clients.
* Project and design management of schemes, delivering projects to time and to budget.
* Maintain high levels of awareness of the implementation of changes in legislation.
* Identify business development opportunities.
* Prepare financial and technical proposals for project opportunities.
* Co-ordination with multidisciplinary teams working on the projects and site team.
* Client and stakeholder interface.
